Advantages of optical quartz glass
We all know that optical quartz glass is a very good optical substrate material compared with ordinary optical glass, and its performance in all aspects is much better than other optical glass, but there are also good and bad quartz glass, and the production method affects the characteristics of quartz glass.
So what are the representative advantages of quartz glass? National quartz glass is a special industrial technology glass made of silica, which is a very excellent basic material. Quartz glass sheets have a series of excellent physical and chemical properties, such as:
1. High temperature resistance
The softening point temperature of quartz glass is about 1730 ℃, and the higher usage temperature in a short period of time can reach 1450 ℃, so it can be used for a long time at 1100 ℃.
2. Corrosion resistance
Quartz glass has less chemical reaction with other acidic substances (except hydrofluoric acid). Its acid resistance is 30 times that of ceramics and 150 times that of stainless steel. In particular, its chemical stability under high temperature is unmatched by any other engineering material.
3. Good thermal stability
Because quartz glass is crystal, its coefficient of thermal expansion is very small, and it can withstand severe temperature changes. When quartz glass is heated to about 1100 ℃, it will not burst when it is put into normal temperature water.
4. Good transparency
Quartz glass has good transmittance throughout the entire spectral band from ultraviolet to infrared, with a visible light transmittance of over 93%, especially in the ultraviolet spectral region, where a larger transmittance can reach over 80%.
5. Good electrical insulation performance
Quartz glass is an excellent electrical insulation material, with a resistance 10000 times that of ordinary glass, and excellent electrical properties even at room temperature.
